Hiking Trails

There are many great hiking trails nearby. Here are a few of our favorites:

If you are interested in road biking on the Blue Ridge Parkway, drive to the BRP by taking Shulls Mill Road towards Blowing Rock. This will end at the Blue Ridge Parkway. This is a common place for bikers in the fall. Use rear and front lights on your bike.
If you prefer mountain biking, Sugar and Beech offer downhill trails via the ski lifts. You will have to pay for lift tickets but it is a lot of fun! If you are looking for trails to mountain bike, Boone has the Rocky Knob Park, just off of Hyw 421, that has several trails. Be warned, there is a lot of uphill riding here.

- Old time Hardware Store with lots of clothes, shoes, and housewares. There is also a Mast General Store in Boone but we recommend Valle Crucis

Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster

Blowing Rock Shops – Lots of shops in this quaint mountain town. Take the scenic and winding Shulls Mill road over to Blowing Rock
Grandfather Mountain – Mile high swinging bridge with a great overlook
